A Call to Spiritual Action
We are at a critical time in our evolution when we all need to do as much as we can to eliminate or shine a light on the darkness that is causing damage to ourselves and the Earth's health. We need not go out and preach to people that they need to make better lifestyle choices; we can do far more to increase the light energy on this planet by cleaning up our own mental pollution. By purifying our thoughts, we purify our bodies and the environment around us, which affects the health of the planet in greater ways than by words alone.
Having said this, I am calling on all of you to be participants in the purification of the energy fields around the planet. One of the most powerful mantras that has been used for thousands of years for this purpose is the MAHA MRITYUNJAYA MANTRA. You can also find the mantra online or on YouTube and listen to it repeatedly on your ipod or other electronic device during the day and when you are doing Hatha Yoga. At some point, the energy of the mantra will build up around you and you may find yourself meeting people who wish to be healed by you. But first, we must heal ourselves.
This mantra is very powerful and may bring up things that are very painful. If left alone or repressed, these painful experiences can lead to disease or even cancer. Try to witness these past experiences with calmness, acceptance, and forgiveness. Practice Hatha Yoga and Pranayama, especially Kapalabhati or rapid diaphragmatic breathing and the advanced form called Bhastrika or The Breath of Fire specifically used for cleansing the mind of samskaras and to expel the physical toxins in our bodies. Saying the mantra 108 times at once is particularly powerful and overtime will cure disease.
Please copy this message and send to as many people as possible asking them to repeat the mantra on a daily basis. The benefit of a growing population is that if we all begin to repeat this mantra and clean up our own pollution, the world will be healed simultaneously and it does not take a lot of people to change things. Please read Ken Keyes The Hundredth Monkey, which states when a certain amount of people begin doing something different, then the rest of the world eventually follows.
It is important we understand the meaning of the mantra and repeat it with sincerity, reverence, and devotion to receive the maximum benefits. WE CAN TRANSFORM THE WORLD INTO A HEAVEN.
THE MAHA MRITYUNJAYA MANTRA:
Om tryambakam yajamahe sugandhim pusit vardhanam
Urvarukamiva bandhanan mrtyor mukshiya mamritat
Translation:
Om. We worship and adore you, O three-eyed one, O Shiva. You are sweet gladness, the fragrance of life, who nourishes us, restores our health, and cause us to thrive. As, in due time, the stem of the cucumber weakens and the gourd is freed from the vine, so free us from attachment and death, and do not withhold immortality
A word by word translation:
tri-ambaka-m "the three eyed one"
yaja-mahe "we praise
sugandhi-m "the fragrant"
pusti-vardhana-m "the prosperity increaser"
urvaruka-m "disease, attachment, obstacles in life, and resulting depression"
iva "like"
bandhanat "from attachment Sstem (of the gourd), but more generally, unhealthy attachment"
mrtyor "from death"
muskshiya "may you liberate"
ma "not"
amritat "realization of immortality"
Before spiritual realization, we may feel alone; after spiritual realization when we wake up from the dream of sorrow, we see that we are not alone, but that we are all one.
